Fun Shops...Creative People

My friend Vicki and I went to The Melrose Crawl out here in Phoenix.We stopped in at Zinnia's had to see one of my favorite booths.Tricia from vintagebliss.blogspot.com has a sweet booth there.From there we went  to Rust and Roses.Tricia was set out in front of the shop under a tent with such a mix of nicely displayed vintage things Dressed up bottles jewelery and cute stocking stuffers..Of course like most who blog I told her who I was and that I too blogged.We exchanged stories of course of how much we enjoy vintage things and at times it is hard to let go of some.Tricia is a warm and friendly person.She is  creative as well.

Vintage Journal

I fell for this vintage journal Tricia made .I love it from the materiel on the cover of the journal,the sweet vintage pin.Inside is just as sweet ! It has decorative paper and vintage wallpaper with little extras in it.Especially the little touches of glitter...

Paris Montana was set next to Tricia.She had her Air Streamer. Well decorated that matches her personality well.She had her bohemian salvaged jewelery she makes there.Beautifully displayed.She has a blog too.parismontana.blogspot.com.You can peek in on her and be in touch with what she is up to.

Vintage Journal

Vicki and I  stopped in Rust and Roses which is the mother store to Sirens and Saints.They also has a bog site to visit sirensandsaints.blogspot.com We come here quite frequently..Vicki shopped around and I talked more then I looked around.I was talking to a very nice lady there that had some of her vintage pieces there for sale.She was so nice.Then Vicki  started to panic she couldn't think where she placed her sunglasses( the not too cheap kind I might add). Pretty crazy.She found them,right where she put them... In her car.I never got that nice lady's name.I will have to go back.Soon !!( I will have to get that nice lady's name)I had a fun time with Vicki. This is a shop worth going to if you are ever in Phoenix look  it up.Shelly the owner has such great finds.Salvaged pieces,chippy shabby ,vintage just to name a few that you will see when you are there. I love coming to this shop! !! I'm thinking  when I go back I should do a post about it.What do you think.You wont be disappointed .You will want to make a trip to see it for yourself.

Getting ready for Thanksgiving....

 

 

           We are getting ready for Thanksgiving around here.I'm adding a few decorative touches around the house.Keeping it some what simple .Wishing these flowers were real .It would add that little touch.We have a storage unit still back in Il that has the majority of my holiday decorations.So I'm trying to be creative with some of the things we moved out with us here.To be honest the majority of the things we have are mostly decorations.It's all good right???

I hope everyone had a nice weekend .I hope some of you are keeping warm.The weather here has been clear and nice.I am looking forward to decorate for Christmas(after Thanksgiving Day,Bren.I know you are wanting to put that tree up of  yours  and decorations up.Gee !! The anticipation .he he.).

Monday Morning.......

This is a chippy shelf that hangs  in our family room near a glass door as you step out to the pool area.I can't believe that it is Thanksgiving  soon.It is so different to be out here  then it is back in Il.The weather here and the way it looks with palm trees..It's getting used of  I'm sure.

Some old shoe laces laying around.I like the details on the paper that the shoe strings are wrapped up with.Then I added some old vintage ribbon .Got to have a few shells laying around.I do like the shades of gray on this one.

Ta Da  This is what the whole wall looks like.Simple...

Farmer's Tool Tote...

Just showing some of the things I have placed in our kitchen.I  turned a old farmer's tool tote on it's side. I did have to cut off the wooden handle part so I could add things in to see.As you can see ironstone and I got to have my spool  of string (Love the string) and my little wire basket full of goodies.I like the little whisk broom that is peeking out.A little bit of fall touches amongst them.I got this great piece from a auction back in Illinois.What a great piece to display things yet,still give you enough counter space.
